Once there was a person who had come to Siddhar Agathiyar for the cause of headache. Sage Agathiyar opened the head of his patient only to discover that the poisonous frog (Therai) was sitting in between or at the center of his brain.
Agathiyar was confused about what to do with this situation, as if he tried to remove the frog, he might take out the brain of the patient or it might cause harm to him.
AS SAGE AGATHIYAR WAS THINKING..
NOW COMES OUR SIDDHAR THERAYAR...WITH A BOWL OF WATER.
Sage Agathiyar asks him, what Therayar was going to do with his bowl of water.
Sage Therayar simply smiled to Agathiyar and placed the bowl of water near the head of Agathiyar's patient.
AS SOON AS THE THERAI SAW WATER, IT JUMPED FROM THE PATIENTS HEAD INTO THE BOWL OF WATER.
Sage Agathiyar appreciated Siddhar Therayar for his brilliance; and also told him that he himself did not get such an idea.
THIS IS THE REASON WHY THIS SIDDHAR IS CALLED AS THERAYAR, BECAUSE HER REMOVED A THERAI FROM A PATIENTS BRAIN WITHOUT CAUSING ANY ILL EFFECTS TO HIMSELF OR THE PATIENT.
He is one of the greatest contributors to the Siddha Medical System.
