Not only me, quiet a few of you might have experienced the similarities between the Sri Lankan Tamils and Keralites of today.
The other thing is, both Sri Lankan Tamils and Keralites use a lot of Coconut products in their food, either in the form of coconut oil, coconut tender jubes, or sliced coconuts
There are people who are propogating that the Keralites had gone and settled in the Paradise Island called Sri Lanka, while others claim that it were the Sri Lankan Tamils, who were ruling the whole of Sri Lanka, came and settled in the former Chera Tamil Kingdom.
Ok, whatever it is -- I wanted to do a serious study about this. When I started my research on this, I went on and would have concluded that Malayalam was the world's first language, and there are reasons for that.
BUT, after listening to the Tamil spoken by Sri Lankan Tamils, I got a solid proof that Tamil was the World's Oldest Language and I have given enough of proofs for that

Now let us see the similarities between Sri Lankan Tamils and Malayalees
SIMILARITIES BETWEEN SRI LANKAN TAMILS & MALAYALEES:
When I first saw this video, I thought that it was a Malayalee, and the way he spoke Tamil also was a bit approving to it.
But later, I came to know that he was a Sri Lankan Tamil from the Royal House of Jaffna
LANGUAGE OF SRI LANKAN TAMILS & MALAYALAM LANGUAGE:
The Tamil spoken by the Sri Lankan Tamils is very closely associated to the Malayalam language spoken in Kerala, than the Tamil Language spoken in Tamil Nadu in India
The accent, the way of pronounciation and the choice of words are pecuiliar to Sri Lankan Tamil and Malayalam
It is a known fact that Malayalam was derived from Ancient Tamil, though many Keralaites refuse to accept this fact as they are influenced by the Namboothiri brahmins, and say that Malayalam was derived from Sanskrit.
I COULD PROVE THAT SANSKRIT AND MALAYALAM BOTH WERE DERIVED FROM TAMIL, WHILE MALAYALAM IS A MIX OF TAMIL AND IT'S OFFSHOT SANSKRIT. \
CUISINE OF SRI LANKAN TAMILS AND KERALITS:
The food and menu prepared and enjoyed by the Sri Lankan Tamils are the very same food that the Keralites use. Especially, the Puttu, Aapam and Idiaapam

The quality of rice used by Sri Lankan Tamils is Naatu Arisi, which is also known as Country Rice, while the rice that Keralites use is called as Matta Rice
One more striking similarity is that both, Sri Lankan Tamils and Keralites use Red Rice.
MATRIMONIAL CUSTOMS OF SRI LANKAN TAMILS & MALAYALEES:
Many Sri Lankan Tamils, though not all of them, but many had the practice of the groom moving to his in-laws house after marriage. This tradition was practiced by the Keralites till the recent past.
Among the Sri Lankan Tamils who followed this practice, there was a will handed over from the parents of the brides side to the groom and their daughter. This was done as a custom of dowry, as Sri Lankan Tamils do not demand for dowry.
The parents of the bride kept living with their daughter and son-in-law, while their son would be sent and settled in their daughter-in-laws house

Both, Sri Lanka and Kerala are Mountainous Hilly Regions with Cold Climate and Rains throughout the whole Year.
Similarly, Tamil King Ravana was the Ruler and King of Sri Lanka. He was a Tamilian. Ravana was neither a Brahmin, nor a Sinhala; whose weapon of choice was an Axe. In Kerala, Parasuraman is believed to be the person who brought Kerala out from the depths of the Arabian Sea, using his Axe.
Not only that, Sri Lankan Tamilians were Great Archers and there a still a Group of Tamilians in Sri Lanka known as "VILLAVAR" which means Great Archers
Similarly, the Flag of the Chera Kingdom was Bow and Arrow, depicting that the Cheras were great archers, and hence Parashuraman also is depicted with Axe, Bow and Arrows

Ravana was the Founder of the Ancient Martial Art known as Adimurai in Tamil Nadu and Angampora in Sri Lanka; similarly, Parasuraman is said to be the Founder of Kalari Payattu of Kerala.
SRI LANKAN TAMILIANS: THE ORIGINAL INHABITANTS OF THE CHERA KINGDOM:
It is worth noting the fact that the Original Inhabitants of Kerala were the Ezhavas and the Thiyyas along with Kuravar, Paraiyar and Meenavar.
Ezhava means a person from Eelam. Eelam is the Tamil term for Ceylon
Thiyya means a person from Island. Sri Lanka is the nearest Island from Kerala.

Both Ezhavas and Thiyyas were Toddy Tappers by Profession and practiced the Traditional Martial Arts of Kerala known as Vadakkan Kalaripayattu.
Ezhavas were predominant in the South of Kerala, while Thiyyas were predominant in the North of Kerala. Ezhavas were Coconut Tree climbers who were toddy makers from Coconut Fruit, while the Thiyyas were Toddy Tappers from Palm Trees.
Ezhavas and Thiyyas were similar to the Nadars of Tamil Nadu and Durawas of Sri Lankan Sinhala Origin.
DID MALAYALEES FROM KERALA SETTLE IN SRI LANKA AND BECOME SRI LANKAN TAMILS?
This is a very popular myth surround over the Internet, that a group of Malayalees settled in Sri Lanka and adopted the Tamil Language which is why the dialect which they use is similar to the Malayalam Language of India and not related to Indian Tamil Language.
There is NO Historic Evidence to prove this statement. BUT - There are Historic references that states that the Tamil Chera Kings had asked for help to the Sri Lankan rulers to fight the Internal War between the Cheran Kings.
There are also evidence of Sri Lankan Kings sending their Armies (Sri Lankan Tamil Armies) to help their Chera Counterparts.
INDIAN TAMILS AGREE TO THE FACT THAT SRI LANKAN TAMIL IS THE ORIGINAL TAMIIL. WHEREAS, INDIAN TAMIL HAS BEEN INFLUENCED BY TELUGU AND SANSKRIT
MALAYALAM IS A LANGUAGE THAT WAS FORMED BY THE MIXING OF SRI LANKAN TAMIL AND SANSKRIT, AS A RESULT OF WHICH IT MAINTAINS IT'S ORIGINAL (TAMIL) FORM TO MOST EXTENT.
So, to say that Malayalees from Kerala, went and settled in Sri Lanka, adopted the Tamil Language and became Sri Lankan Tamils would be wrong. BUT, on the other hand, Sri Lankan Tamils were sent to help the Chera Kings, settled in the Chera Kingdom, got mixed with the Namboothiris and became Malayalees.
EVEN TODAY, IN KERALA, EXCEPTING THE NAIRS AND NAMPOOTHIRIS, ALL OTHER COMMUNITIES ARE ORIGINALLY TAMIL COMMUNITIES...!!!!!
